Recovery is a performance skill.

The goal isn't to never get knocked off course.
It's to shorten the distance back.

We talk a lot about consistency in high performance.

But nobody is consistent all the time.

Deals fall apart.
Numbers slip.
Plans fail.
People disappoint us.
Sometimes we disappoint ourselves.

The difference isn't whether you get knocked off course.

The difference is how long you stay there.

Perspective helps separate a bad moment from a bad month. A setback from an identity. Something that happened from what happens next.

That's why I believe recovery is a performance skill.

You don't have to be perfect at avoiding setbacks.

You have to get better at finding your way back.
